Fiddes Button Polish is manufactured from the best quality Button Shellac. Rich and golden in appearance, Button Polish is a traditional French Polish which produces a slightly warmer appearance, and is a firm favourite with antique restorers and cabinet makers.
Preparation is, as always, extremely important, and special attention is recommended in order to achieve the desired finish. (See our guide on preparation)
Ensure all areas to be coated are free from grease and blemishes prior to application. The Fiddes range of Shellac Polishes are ideally suited for application on top of NGR Stains, Van Dyke Crystals and Naptha Wood Stains.
Application: French Polishing Mop or rubber.
Drying time: approx. 20-30 minutes.
Coverage: approx. 8 sq. meters per litre. The number of coats required will depend on the type of timber and finish required, minimum 3 coats but can be as high as 6 coats.
It is recommended to finish with a coat of Fiddes Supreme Wax Polish or Mellow Wax Polish to further protect and enhance the natural beauty of your wood.
