Overview

Village Green wood stain reveals the natural character of your wood through a broad spectrum of wood stain colours. From timeless oak wood stain hues to contemporary accents like grey wood stain, you can tailor your finish to any style. Whether you prefer subtle shades of light oak wood stain or bolder coloured wood stain applications, our formula effortlessly adapts to furniture, doors, floors, sheds, fences, and beyond. Designed for both interior wood stain colours and outdoor wood stain colours, it’s a versatile choice for every project.

Preparation

Before applying your chosen coloured wood stain, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from previous finishes. Sand along the grain with 150-220 grit paper to achieve an even surface. Gather brushes, rollers, applicators, or lint-free cloths, and prepare a well-ventilated workspace.

Application

  1. Shake well: Agitate thoroughly to blend pigments, whether it’s a timeless oak wood stain or a trendy grey wood stain.
  2. Apply lightly: Use a brush, roller, applicator, or lint-free cloth to spread a thin, even coat of wood stain, wiping away excess as you go. This approach allows careful control over the wood stain colours.
  3. Build depth gradually: Allow the stain to dry to the touch (15 minutes to 1 hour) before adding further coats. Multiple thin layers enable you to fine-tune the intensity of your light oak wood stain or any other chosen shade.
  4. Fully dry before finishing: Let the wood stain dry completely (24 to 48 hours) before applying wax, oil, varnish, or lacquer as a topcoat.

After Care

For added durability - particularly outdoors - apply a suitable protective finish over your chosen outdoor wood stain colours. On vertical exterior surfaces, a coat of Osmo’s UV Protection Oil Clear can extend the life of your wood stain. For indoor projects, select a compatible finish that complements your interior wood stain colours. Regular maintenance is simple: gently clean with a mild, pH-neutral solution. Remember, results can vary based on wood type, application, and lighting conditions. Test with a 50ml sample before committing to larger quantities. For significant undertakings, consider the concentrated version of our wood stain to maintain consistent wood stain colours throughout your project.
