Preservatives

ProBor 50 is a ready-for-use highly concentrated wood preservative paste based on boron, supplied in a 400ml mastic cartridge and is normally injected into pre drilled holes in the timber. Osmo Wood Protector is a clear primer/sealer for interior us, it is used to waterproof timber prior to the application of Osmo oils especially in rooms prone to dampness, and surfaces such as kitchen worktops.

Impra Profilan Prevent is a waterborne, colourless preservative with biocidal components. Protects against bluestain, fungal decay and insect attack. Part of the Profilan eco friendly product range. For all exterior timber especially untreated softwoods. Protects wood in the open (not in ground contact) against insects, bluestain and fungal decay. After treatment with Profilan Prevent apply Profilan Fina (base coat) and then Profilan Top Coat or any good quality wood stains or paints which improve the resistance to weather. Impra Profilan Secure , a special brush applied tannin blocker primer to combat bleeding of water-soluble tannins in certain wood components. Recommended as a first coat when using light or bright paints on wood either indoors or outdoors. When applying a water based paint system to timbers with a high tannin contents Oak, Idigbo, Hemlock etc tannins within the timber will migrate to the surface discolouring the paint colour. Profilan Secure will prevent this migration ensuring the paint finish will remain its true colour. Rustins Advanced Wood Preserver is a dual purpose fungicide insecticide. A low odour, non-flammable product based on micro-emulsion nanotechnology. The ultra-fine particle size allows deep penetration of the preserver to take place so the performance of the product is much greater than standard wood preservation products. It is water based quick drying preservative that can be applied to wet or dry timbers. Most preservative available are spirit based and will not provide adaquate penetration on damp timbers and all wood rotting fungi are caused by moisture ingress. Ideal for smooth or rough interior & exterior timber including fences, sheds, garden timber structures and more. For use against wood boring insects and wood rotting fungi within domestic, commercial, institutional and industrial premises. This tiny particle size allows the formulation to penetrate deep into the timber in order to deliver the active ingredient (insecticide) to prevent or eradicate wood boring insect attack. Lignum Pro I 62.5 insecticide is effective against all life stages of wood boring insects. It has virtually no odour and can be applied either by brush or low pressure spray to provide longlasting protection. A high-quality, low odour oil/Spirit wood preservative which is deep penetrating. Barrettine wood preserver is used for wood protection against wood destroying fungi (wet rot), wood discolouring fungi and wood boring insects. Provides a semi-transparent matt/satin finish allowing the natural wood texture to be visible. Can be used on pressure treated wood, treated timber or untreated wood. Suitable for rough, sawn or smooth timber, does not require over sealing for wood protection. No subsequent top coat product required unless for aesthetic purposes. For outdoor use and also for use on windows/frames, external doors/frames (internal & external sections). The Barrettine clear wood preserver can also be used on structural timbers in unoccupied areas such as floor joists.

DESCRIPTION Fiddes Exterior Wood Protector is a solvent based water repelling preservative sealer, that penetrates deeply into both smooth and planed rough sawn exterior timber. Formulated to both preserve and protect, preventing surface growth of algae whilst offering high resistance to water penetration with excellent beading. Available in a range of Clear and 4 natural colour shades that contain UV filters to resist colour fade. Ideal for Sheds, Fences and timber joinery, however not suitable for use on decking or garden furniture or in areas subjected to high wear or footfall. NOTES On all new timber, coat thoroughly to seal. Longer drying periods may occur during application in cold, damp or humid conditions. 3 coats recommended on softwood.
