Village Green Wood Stain is a premium quality, non-toxic, odour free wood stain, for interior and exterior use, that will enhance your wood with a colourful vibrance that brings it to life. Rich and deep, light and exuberant, modern or traditional; tones and shades that will suit your style and personality.
Ideal for larger areas, these bottles are packaged as a concentrate, and all you need to do is mix it with water. This saves on shipping weight and extra packaging, allowing us to pass the savings on to you whilst helping towards maintaining our environment.
Possibly the most versatile wood stain on the market, you can vary the dilution ratio of this concentrate to suit. 1 part concentrate to 9 parts water will give you a very high coverage rate from 1 bottle, making this an incredibly economical product, whereas 1 part concentrate to 4 parts water will achieve a richer, longer lasting finish.
PREPARATION: Ensure that the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt and dust and any previous finish. If sanding, the wood should be sanded with the grain, using 150 – 220 grit abrasive paper.
APPLICATION: SHAKE WELL until all pigments are combined within the bottle before mixing with water at the desired ratio. Rinse out any settled pigments from the bottle into the mixture. Test the colour on an inconspicuous area first, then apply using a brush, roller, sprayer or by dipping. Allow your wood to be dry to the touch before applying additional coats. Drying time is generally 15 mins – 1 hour. Clean up with soap and water. Often 1 coat is enough, but an additional coat can give a richer finish.
FINISH: For fencing / sheds etc, this stain is often sufficient enough, however if you do wish to apply a finish, allow 24-48 hours for the stain to fully dry before finishing. Depending on the application, you can finish your stained wood using a wax, oil, varnish or lacquer.
***If using our wood stain on exterior vertical timber surfaces, we would recommend using Osmo's UV Protection Oil Clear as a top coat for increased longevity***
COVERAGE: 12-15 square metres per litre of diluted stain on sanded wood (7-10 square metres on rough sawn timber)
Although our stains are always thoroughly tested for colour consistency, the perceived colour of the stain once applied may vary depending on the qualities of the wood you are applying it to and the method of application. Viewing colours via screen will also alter the perceived colour of a colour swatch. For this reason, we always recommend to try a 50ml sample bottle from our ready to use range prior to purchasing a larger quantity.
