Osmo UV Protection Oil is a versatile, satin, clear finish suitable for a range of interior and exterior joinery applications, though it's not recommended for flooring. This product is based on natural oils, ensuring a micro-porous finish that won't crack, flake, peel, or blister.

Overview

For bare exterior timbers, treating the wood first with Osmo WR Base Coat is recommended. The Osmo UV Protection Oil range, available as Osmo UV Protection Oil 420 and Osmo UV Protection Oil 410, is compatible with most high-quality wood stains, significantly prolonging renovation time.

Differences Between 410 and 420

Osmo UV Protection Oil 410: Contains no active biocides and is suitable for a broader range of applications.

Osmo UV Protection Oil 420: Contains active biocides, making it ideal for outdoor areas. The Osmo UV 420 variant is designed to minimise the risk of algae and fungal attacks.

Application

Apply Osmo UV Protection Oil using a brush for a flawless finish. It's available in 0.75L and 2.5L size options.

After Care

Osmo UV Protection Oil is water and dirt-resistant, moisture-regulating, and reduces swelling and shrinking of the wood. Simply apply another coat to the dry, clean surface to refresh the surface; no sanding is required. For additional protection, use a wood preservative like Osmo WR Base Coat before application.

Depending on the timber type and exposure, Osmo UV Protection Oil can last up to 5 years or more before a maintenance coat is required.

Great product, I've been using this for seven years on my wooden garage and the shiplap timbers still look fantastic. Expensive and needs doing every year, but worth it

I have used this product several times, on both my wooden conservatory and wooden garage. It lasts about three years before it needs re-coating (one coat) and two coats is plenty (on the first occasion only). Can be very thick and I always add a little thinners to make it easier to apply.

My garage is 10 years old and still looks superb. It is expensive but is worth it

I have purchased this product on three occasions now, it has completely stopped the bleaching of two pine clad buildings I have. I have tried wood preservers previously without success. Would recommend to anyone who like me does not like to see faded wood.
