Overview

The Timbabuild Timbaglaze Putty Replacement is an all-weather glazing sealant developed for both modern and heritage applications. This Timbabuild glaze putty permanently replaces traditional linseed putty while offering superior flexibility, adhesion, and long-term durability.

Once applied, Timbabuild Timbaglaze forms a smooth, paintable surface within one hour, allowing professionals to complete glazing projects quickly without compromising quality.

Ideal for sash window repairs, double-glazed units, and listed building restorations, this glazing sealant delivers exceptional weatherproofing and a traditional finish that lasts for years.

To achieve professional results with Timbabuild Timbaglaze, follow these preparation steps:

  • Clean the area: Remove any loose debris, dust, or old putty from the glazing unit and surrounding frame.
  • Check the surface: Ensure it is stable and free from oil or grease. Timbabuild glaze putty can be applied to wet or damp surfaces.
  • Select tools: Use any standard mastic or sealant gun for direct application.
  • Secure the glazing: Make sure the glazing unit is correctly positioned and supported before applying sealant.

Application

  4. Allow to cure: The product cures to form a flexible, non-shrinking seal that absorbs vibration and resists cracking.

Aftercare

To maintain and extend the working life of your Timbabuild Timbaglaze glazing sealant, always ensure proper inspection and care after application. Once the glazing sealant has cured, periodically check the glazing joints for any signs of movement or damage, particularly in exposed areas subject to temperature changes or vibration. Clean the sealed surfaces gently using a soft cloth and mild detergent to preserve the finish and flexibility of the bond. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive tools that may compromise the cured sealant.

Store unused Timbaglaze putty replacement cartridges in a clean, dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent premature curing or degradation. Keeping the cartridges upright and sealed tightly will ensure consistent performance and usability for future applications. Proper maintenance and storage will preserve the sealant’s performance, ensuring a durable, reliable bond that maintains its appearance and flexibility for years to come.
