Barrettine Wood Preserver Colours (Solvent Based)
Overview
Barrettine Premier Wood Preserver is a professional-grade, oil-based wood treatment offering deep penetration and long-lasting protection. Designed for exterior timber, it defends against wood-destroying fungi (wet rot), wood-boring insects, and discolouring fungi, while enhancing natural wood texture with a semi-transparent finish.
Ideal for rough, sawn, or smooth timber, this solvent-based formula can be used on treated or untreated wood. No overcoating is necessary unless desired for appearance. It’s suitable for exterior use on cladding, fencing, sheds, and outdoor joinery, as well as structural timbers in unoccupied indoor spaces like floor joists.
Available in a range of traditional wood tones, Barrettine Wood Preserver Colours combines dependable performance with aesthetic appeal for a wide variety of timber projects.
Preparation
Before applying Barrettine Wood Preserver Colours, make sure the surface is:

- Sanded down if previously coated or weathered.
- Free from mould and mildew.
- For freshly cut timber ends, pre-treat with Barrettine Cut End Preserver to prevent moisture ingress and fungal attack.
- Spot-test the product on a hidden area to confirm the final colour tone.
