A blend of pure solvents that will mix with any make of cellulose lacquer.

Traditional French Polish made from shellac and industrial alcohol. Suitable for french polishing all dark and light coloured woods.

A quick drying, clear sealer that allows the application of both paints and varnishes, unlike white MDF sealers, which can only be painted. Approx. 12sq.m per litre, 1 coat, depending on the absorbency of the surface.

Water Based Rustin's two part cold cure lacquer for use on interior wood, hardboard, cork and plastic laminates. The toughest finish for all furniture and interior woodwork. Resistant to heat, Impact, alcohol, solvents and abrasion. Does not yellow or craze on ageing. Does not darken light coloured woods. Fiddes Black Polish is traditionally used to create a black or ebonised finish. Produces a high gloss, black coating with an exceptional depth of colour and sheen.

Chestnut Acrylic Sanding Seale r, a water based sanding sealer which dries quickly and sands easily. This product complies with EN71 regulations for use on toys. Available in 500ml

Chestnut Shellac Sanding Sealer , suitable for use on most timbers and on most interior applications including joinery and lathe work. Its use will give a higher build, increased gloss and a more hardwearing finish to your final coat. An excellent basecoat for friction and french polishes and waxes. Pack Size 500ml

Chestnut Food Safe Finish is a clear food grade oil for use with salad bowls, cheese boards and other items which come into contact with foodstuffs. It dries to a soft satin finish with a high degree of water resistance which will withstand wiping with a damp cloth. Available in 500ml

Chestnut Acrylic Gloss Lacquer which can be used either straight onto bare wood or over Chestnut Acrylic or Cellulose Sanding Sealers. The omission of the Sanding Sealer will require extra coats of lacquer to be applied. This is a quick drying and very hard wearing product. Available in gloss only Pack Size 500ml

Chestnut Friction Polish produces a high gloss finish ideal for polishing small items. It has a heavy concentration of shellac which gives a very high build; therefore it is not essential to apply a sealer before application, although a coat of Cellulose Sanding Sealer or Acrylic Sanding Sealer may be applied first if you prefer. Applied with the lathe running it dries almost instantly and builds to a deep, rich shine very quickly. Avoid using too much as this can cause ‘rings’ to appear on the surface. Friction Polish can be applied off the lathe with great success, using it like a French Polish and rubbing it into the surface. This does require a large amount of elbow grease (sadly not something we supply) but the end result is well worth the effort! Available in 500ml

Chestnut Melamine Lacquer , A quick drying, hard wearing clear lacquer with a melamine additive which provides improved heat and water resistance. Once dry, the lacquer chemically ‘cures’ achieving maximum durability after seven days. This formula does not contain harmful petroleum solvents such as toluene or xylene. Available in 500ml

Chestnut Spirit Thinner . A clear top quality thinners for use with Spirit Stain and other methylated spirit based products such as French Polish, Shellac Sanding Sealer etc Available in 500ml

Chestnut Burnishing Cream . A very mildly abrasive cleaner which smoothes and cleans finishes, reviving the lustre of previously polished surfaces and enhancing the gloss of newly applied lacquers and polishes. Especially suitable for use with Melamine Lacquer, Acrylic Gloss Lacquer, Friction Polish. Can also be used as a liquid sander on Cellulose Sanding Sealer before the application of wax or Friction Polish but not lacquers. Available in 500ml

Chestnut End Seal , a ready to use sealer which when dried forms a seal on non-kiln dried wood, thus slowing down the drying process and helping to prevent the wood from splitting. End Seal is an easy to use, safe alternative to using molten paraffin wax. On round blanks the edge of the circumference is normally coated, on square blanks the smaller ends are coated. End Seal can also be used when working on a large item which is being left for several days, to prevent it splitting whilst on the lathe. Available in 1L

The oil is made on a base on natural oils and waxes produces a waterproof & dirt resistant finish also resistant to tea,coffee and fruit juices etc. The added advantage of this hard wax oil is you can patch repair damaged areas or reinforce high traffic areas without having to sand the whole floor.
