Fiddes Exterior High Build Oil for the protection of timbers exposed to exterior environmental factors such as heat, light, humidity, pollutants and ultraviolet radiation from the sun. A blend of natural oils & resins offering a transparent satin finish with excellent durability & weather resistance for all exterior joinery & woodwork.
Produces a clear, water repellent finish that will not peel or flake, contains U V filters and is VOC compliant
Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from any previous finish, remove any fungal growth, dirt or moss on old wood prior to application and ensure a preservative has been applied.
Always test on a small area prior to initial application. No primer required.
Fiddes Exterior Oil is formulated for application directly to bare timber, and does not require thinning. (it is not however suitable for flooring application.)
It is a natural oil based and micro-porous finish, will not crack, flake, peel or blister. min 2 coats required, it blocks the greying process caused by UV degradation in comparison to untreated wood.
For treatment of bare exterior timbers it is highly recommended to treat the timber first with a Clear Wood Preservative
