Liberon Spirit Wood Dye
Overview
Liberon Spirit Wood Dye is a traditional ethanol-based dye specifically designed for hardwoods, such as oak and mahogany. Its deep-penetrating formula enhances the natural grain of the wood, making it ideal for furniture restoration and other interior projects. Liberon Spirit Wood Dye is available in a variety of popular shades, all of which can be mixed to create custom colours. The dye is intended for interior use only and should be over-coated with wax, oil, or varnish to protect the finish.
Preparation
Before applying Liberon Spirit Wood Dye, ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of any existing finishes. Light sanding may be required to help the dye penetrate evenly into the wood.
Application
- Stir the dye thoroughly before and during use.
- Apply one liberal coat of Liberon Spirit Wood Dye using a brush or cloth.
- Allow the dye to penetrate deeply into the wood.
- Wipe off any excess stain with a clean cloth to ensure an even finish.
- Allow the surface to dry for approximately 6 hours before applying a protective overcoat such as wax, oil, or varnish.
Aftercare
After application, clean any brushes used with methylated spirits. To maintain the wood’s appearance, consider applying additional protective coatings like wax or oil as necessary over time.
